Talent RISE is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) through a skills development and employment initiative called InRoads.
InRoads is a program designed to engage 240 school students who wish to leave school before completing Year 12 and are at risk of unemployment. These students, aged 16-17 years, are from disadvantaged public schools in Sydney and Melbourne where youth unemployment is highest.
The program will provide students with employability skills and job placement opportunities. It will also provide employers with a pipeline of work-prepared young people for entry-level jobs in IT and technology.
Talent RISE has made a commitment to place a minimum of 140 InRoads students in permanent, entry-level positions in the technology and digital sector by 2019.
ABCN is a not-for-profit organisation that partners education with business through the development and delivery of mentoring programs for students from high-needs schools. Their focus is to improve opportunities and outcomes for disadvantaged students, with the aim of raising awareness of the wider range of personal, educational and vocational choices.
ABCN partners education with business through the development and delivery of mentoring programs for students from high-needs schools, opening their eyes to new opportunities, providing engagement and self-confidence, helping develop a set of life skills and creating role-models for schools and the broader Community.
We are delighted to be collaborating with ABCN – an organisation with strategic alignment to TalentRISE and look forward to commencing InRoads.
