We have partnered with a leading Telecommunications company who are looking for people who are passionate about IT to join their team as Junior Network Engineers.

The Opportunity

You will be joining the team on a 12-month contract, based in Melbourne, Monday to Friday (standard business hours).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior network engineers in maintaining computer networks for organisations, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
  • Install and configure networking hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Monitor network performance and assist with troubleshooting issues as needed, working with other members of the IT team to resolve problems.
  • Learn and understand network security by assisting in implementing appropriate security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and other security protocols.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and other members of the IT team, helping to resolve network-related issues and answering questions about network functionality.
  • Learn about emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for network improvements and upgrades as needed.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, inventory lists, and configuration details.
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT team to plan and implement disaster recovery and business continuity measures.

Additional:

  • You will receive an industry credential in Routing, Switching, Firewalls (Infrastructure Methodologies) and an Australian Security Clearance to NV1.

About you:

  • A willingness to learn and a desire to work within the Digital Technology Industry
  • Any technology background, credentials, tertiary or higher education qualifications being an advantage, but not essential
  • Must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for an Australian Security Clearance check
  • A keen attitude and an ability to work on challenging tasks
  • You have strong communication skills
  • Willing to learn and upskill
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Committed to completing a 12 month contract
